Resources & ToolsHere are links to some of my favorite resources and tools
After trying to swot up on hosting and reading many reviews, I chose to go with Siteground for my hosting. I was particularly impressed with their level of customer support any time I needed it. Which, let’s face it, as a complete novice starting out, was quite a bit to start with!
The dashboard is straightforward, they have lots of training and information resources and customer service is great.
And they’re currently offering 3 months of hosting for €0.99!
Domain name: Dynadot
There are lots and lots of places to purchase your domain name. If you’ve already chosen your Host, you can normally buy your domain name from there. I bought my recent domains from Dynadot who also offer an easy-to-use website builder.
Website creation: WordPress
Create a free website or blog with WordPress.
Yes, WordPress is FREE. And it also has a vast selection of FREE themes and plugins available to customise your website design and functionality.
The guides, help, video tutorials to help you set up and customise your website seem endless. And you’ll find a million and one additional guides in any Google search. So it’s pretty easy to find your way around this one. Even for me!
WordPress Theme: Divi
The Divi Theme from Elegant Theme is the ultimate visual page builder. This website building visual editor gives you the framework to design and customise every part of your website without needing to know a single line of code. The Divi home page claims “Divi changes everything”. It really does!
Canva makes graphic design easy and fun, even for beginners. Canva have so many slick professionally designed templates ready for you to customise or you can create your own. They have a free version which is fab but when I upgraded to the paid Canva Pro version it gave me access to even more design templates, photos and the time-saving, life-changing Brand Kit.
Creative Market is another site I use a lot for their huge range of fonts, graphics, templates, photos and themes. They’re all very affordable. Not only that but they send you an option of six free goods every week. And you earn bonus credits when you buy.
Easil offers a similar design experience to Canva and is very easy to use too.
GIMP is an Image Editor which I use mainly to edit and resize photos.

MY DAILY PRACTICE
Everyone who sees my Journal asks what make it is.
It’s a LEUCHTTURM1917 and I’ve been using these notebooks for years. I like the size, the hard cover which keeps its shape and protects the pages while the notebook is being bounced around in many of my handbags. It has an elastic band fastener, numbered pages and a blank table of contents to help you organise whatever way you like. There are 2 ribbon page markers, a handy pocket at the back with a sheet of sticky labels and the paper itself is ink proof and feels like such gorgeous quality.
These LEUCHTTURM1917 come in every colour under the sun, many different sizes and with plain, ruled, dotted or squared pages. They also have a great range of planners.
I tend to switch between this fancy Metallic Edition Medium (A5) in Silver and I’ve just bought my third A5 Lemon Dotted journal. They may call it lemon but it’s a vibrant yellow which always makes me smile and is never hard to find!
I personally never use journals with ruled pages as my writing is enormous and I find that plain pages allow me to creatively use the pages however I want. Planning, writing, journaling, mind mapping, lists….
I’m also hooked on these Paper Mate Flair Felt Tip Pens. I always buy a pack of 12 and keep them stashed everywhere!
And if you like a splash of colour, these Assorted Fun Colours are fab for highlighting, sketching and doodling.
For me, it’s really important to create the right environment for my Daily Practice of yoga, pranayama (breathing) and journaling.
I warm a few drops of essential oils in my palms to inhale while breathing. But before I do that, I always light a few tealights and a scented candle.
My absolute favourites are these St Eval Tin Candles. They have a wonderful, lasting fragrance without being in any way overpowering in a huge range of interesting and quirky fragrances. These also come in tealights, pillar candles and diffusers. The diffusers are great, they really seem to last forever.
